CrossFit Assateague is the passion of our head coach, Betsy Myers
Coach Betsy also holds a B.S. in Biology, B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling Psychology. Additionally she is a LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) by the state of Maryland.
Coach Sandra joined the CrossFit Assateague instructor team in February 2014 and brings high energy and more than 9 years of experience in teaching group fitness classes to clients of all age groups. When she is not coaching or working out, she manages a golf travel business and owns an event planning company.
Coach Watts will give you just the right mix of encouragement, direction, and a little bit of that push you might be looking for to kick it into high gear! But don’t worry, she’ll be right there sweating along side of you in the next class! Coach Watts not only trains in the class setting but also one on one for anyone who is looking for a more intimate setting.
In her spare time she enjoys chasing her two handsome “ginger tornadoes” around and working out among her fellow friends and athletes at CrossFit Assateague!
Coach Brian has an extensive athletic background, consisting of a quarter century of surfing and body boarding, 15 years of ice hockey, over a decade of football, several years paddle boarding, and countless hours training for all of them.
Currently the morning Meteorologist for our local CBS/FOX affiliates here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Brian earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Salisbury State University, as well as a Master Of Science Degree from Mississippi State University.
“Coach B” hopes to be able to utilize his honed communication, teaching, and coaching skill sets, to share and instill his ever growing knowledge with all the CrossFit Assateague Athletes, so they too can reap the seemingly endless benefits that CrossFit has to offer.
Coach Gringo is the newest addition to our coaching staff! You will never see him without a smile on his face unless he is in the midst of a grueling workout! He also loves to find creative ways to make your time in his class a memorable one. If you have any aches and pains or mobility issues Gringo is happy to break out mobility tools and help you work through some of it!
When he’s not coaching you will find him at our local Fire Department where he works full time as a fire fighter and paramedic for the town of Ocean City.
